Evaluation Guides

A practical path from a first description to a reviewed sample.

1. Start with a known merchant

Send a synthetic description such as NETFLIX.COM in the sandbox. Inspect the original text, merchant identity, category, MCC, confidence and matching explanation.

Try a description

2. Test local noise

Try branch codes, abbreviations and wallet prefixes from a redacted sample. Check whether the returned merchant is correct rather than judging success by a non-empty result.

Test local strings

3. Review a statement sample

PDF, CSV and text uploads are available in the sandbox. PDF narrations must include merchant account names; scanned or poorly extracted text may not parse correctly. Use redacted data only.

4. Measure before integrating

Coverage is the share of eligible descriptions resolved. Accuracy needs human-reviewed labels. Review false matches and unmatched strings separately, then agree safeguards and production requirements.
